Aim & Scope

Reports in Phytopharmacology is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to high-quality research on natural products and bioactive compounds. It publishes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, case studies, and letters focused on the discovery, characterization, and preclinical evaluation of specialized metabolites (secondary metabolites) and derived substances with potential therapeutic value.

The journal includes but is not limited to the following topics:

  • Isolation and structural characterization of bioactive metabolites using techniques such as GLC-MS, LC-MS and NMR
  • Longevity, age-related diseases and disorders
  • Role of antioxidants in ROS mediated health conditions
  • Anticancer activity and therapy
  • Diabetes-related disorders
  • Immunopharmacology and inflammatory conditions
  • Renal pathophysiology and pharmacology
  • Natural product applications in infectious diseases against bacteria, fungi and viruses
  • Molecular pharmacology including functional genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics

  • Cosmeceuticals and dermatological applications
  • Ethnopharmacology and traditional medicine validation
  • Advances in phytopharmaceutical formulations and delivery systems
  • Safety assessments, toxicological profiles, herb-drug interactions, and adverse reactions to herbal products

Peer Review

This journal follows a strict single-blind peer review process to ensure rigor, originality, and high quality.

Publishing Frequency: Quarterly (4 issues/year). Immediate online publication upon acceptance.

Open Access Policy

All articles are freely accessible under an open access model. APCs are waived until the end of 2026 to encourage broad participation and dissemination.

Instructions for Authors

Authors must submit original work that complies with international ethical guidelines. Manuscripts should be clearly written in English, follow a structured IMRaD format, and include author contributions, funding, and conflict of interest statements.

Each submission should contain a title page, abstract (≤350 words), keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, references, and any supplementary material. Figures and tables must be properly formatted and labeled.

ReportsIn uses a single-blind peer review process. Authors may suggest reviewers who have no conflicts of interest.
